Doctor of Physical Therapy | Certified Manual Physical Therapist (CMPT) | Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS)

“Here at B Physical Therapy, we believe in truly solving the problem that is the root cause of your pain, using the best possible treatment, and getting you better faster in the fewest amount of visits needed. This is the principle that we built B Physical Therapy on and what continues to make us successful in helping the people of Orlando get great results and pain-free again.”

Dr. B:

My goal is to help as many people as I can regain and improve their quality of life. For this reason, I decided to open B Physical Therapy. I want people to understand that they do have options and that healthcare can be positive and uplifting. Your experience should be focused on YOU, and not what your insurance or imaging report says. I want to share my knowledge with each and every one of my clients so they can realize their true physical potential. I would love to hear your personal journey and future goals. Then, together, we can formulate a plan to reach and exceed those goals. I want to help you to “B your best!”

Dr. B is a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) and the owner of B Physical Therapy. Dr. B is passionate about providing the highest level of care so you can eliminate your pain, enjoy your life, and B your best! Dr. B holds a number of distinguished roles and certifications. He is a Certified Manual Physical Therapist (CMPT) through the Florida Institute of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. In addition to owning B Physical Therapy, he also is an Courtesy Associate Professor in the Physical Therapy program at his alma mater, the University of Central Florida.

As a former athlete himself, Dr. B knows what it’s like to be injured and deal with pain. Check out his story:

When I was 16 years old, I injured my lower back so badly I was unable to run, jump, or participate in anything athletic for months. I played a number of sports, but my primary sports were basketball and golf. I was unable to play or train for these for an entire summer, which was one of the most frustrating times of my life. After trying various treatment techniques, I had an MRI which showed 3 bulging discs in my lumbar spine (lower back). Then, I was fortunate enough to be directed to a compassionate physical therapist, also named Stephen! He not only helped me to eliminate my back pain, but he also directed the course of my life. After completing physical therapy myself I knew I wanted to impact the lives of others the same way he impacted mine. I was able to resume athletics and have learned how to stay healthy while keeping the pain away. I truly want to help each, and every person live a happy, healthy and fulfilling life! Since then, my life has been dedicated to physical therapy.

Dr. B grew up in a small town in Ohio and attended Ontario High School. After graduating, he attended The Ohio State University for a year. He decided to make the move to the Sunshine State and in April of 2008 drove his 1999 Toyota Corolla, packed with his belongings, to Orlando. Dr. B attended Seminole Community College and received his Associate of Arts degree in 2009 and then transferred to the University of Central Florida.

Dr. B studied Sport and Exercise Science while also working at Orlando Health’s Inpatient Rehabilitation Institute in downtown Orlando. He worked as a rehabilitation tech gaining valuable experience working with an amazing team of physicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech and language pathologists, nurses, certified nursing assistants, dieticians, and more. During his time with Orlando Health Dr. B had the opportunity to work with patients who had sustained spinal cord injuries, total joint replacements, major multiple-traumas, traumatic brain injuries, and other injuries.

In 2012, Dr. B completed his bachelor’s degree in Sport and Exercise Science from UCF. Two weeks later he remained at UCF to begin the Doctor of Physical Therapy program. During his time in the doctoral program, he served as the Social Chair for his class and participated in numerous community outreach and professional opportunities including Central Florida Miracle League, Florida Physical Therapy Association Student Conclave, Give Kids the World, UCF Let’s Ignite: Building Better Bodies for Children with Developmental Disabilities, and more.

Throughout the physical therapy program Dr. B interned at various outpatient physical therapy offices throughout Central Florida and became passionate about treatment of the spine and sports injuries. He also gained an appreciation for the treatment of those in persistent or chronic pain and how we can improve our treatment of people who have been suffering from pain for long periods of time. After graduating in 2015, Dr. B immediately began treating patients at a local outpatient physical therapy practice in Orlando. After spending 5 amazing years learning and gaining valuable experience, Dr. B decided to live out his dream of opening his own practice with a focus on providing the best care to each and every patient.

Dr. B’s special interests include the treatment of neck and back pain, sports injuries, chronic and persistent pain, spine disorders and pain, and helping active people stay healthy and active.
